REDcert² - Your certification system for sustainable biomass in the food sector
In the interests of its system participants, REDcert created the REDcert² system to tackle the challenges of the market and respond to requests from collectors, processors and the food and beverage industry for biomass sustainability certification for the food industry. In addition to the established sustainability certification of biomass, biofuels and bioliquids, REDcert² offers the food industry a practically-oriented and efficient certification system for sustainable biomass.
REDcert² is based on the REDcert-EU system which has successfully been in place now for three years and was given a positive rating by the SAI (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative). REDcert² offers system participants already certified under REDcert-EU and prospective system participants from the food industry a way to expand their sustainability certification to include the food sector. The REDcert² certification scheme can be used for the phases raw materials production and collection, trade and processing.
