Use of NUTS 2 values
Generally, when using NUTS 2 values, the values laid down in the table of the EU Commission on the Transparency Platform must be used, if available. For the NUTS 2 values Germany you still can use the REDcert-Tool, please see https://www.redcert.org/de/nuts-tool.html Both the GHG values and the NUTS 2 codes are always up to date.
We would like to point out that the NUTS 2 area codes and/or descriptions are not up-to-date in the table of the EU Commission for the area "Brandenburg". The EU table shows the areas "Nordost" (DE41) and "Südwest" (DE42) for Brandenburg - officially the NUTS 2 area is now „Brandenburg (DE40)”. In this case, the REDcert tool for DE40 reflects the overall worst GHG value.
This means for the recording and designation of biomass from „Brandenburg“: Either a separate designation according to the values laid down in the table of the EU Commission (DE41 / DE42) or a consistent value (DE40), according to the principle that a summary of different NUTS 2 values to the overall worst is always possible.

Use of emission factor methanol
The EU-Commission has updated its „NOTE ON THE CONDUCTING AND VERIFYING ACTUAL CALCULATIONS OF GHG EMISSION SAVINGS“, please see (https://ec.europa.eu/energy/sites/ener/files/documents/note_on_ghg_final_update_v2_0.pdf). This note has already been considered in the REDcert scheme principles. You can find these scheme principles as a pre-release version on our website.
In case of the application of fossil methanol for the production of biodiesel we point out the declared emission factor mentioned in the note. For this emission factor the emissions from combustion must be taken into account in the GHG calculation for processing from 01.09.2017.
